Somebody on M3OC jokingly referred to it as ‘Matte Blue’... ;)

Not sure if all of you know that Franz’ very own red Model 3 has a few ‘special’ features... ;)

With all the dual motor news coming out lately, it seems like they are getting ready to start production. Do you think they will come out with dual motor BEFORE the LRB cars to non owners are finished? I ask because If im waiting for a LRB but they open configuration to dual battery, wouldn't they "jump the line" ahead of me?

That is very unlikely. I definitely expect some non owners (not all of course!) to start getting first production LRBs before AWD rolls off the line.

    But, others, please do comment...

I would think so too, but i can also see Tesla rushing the Dual motor after seeing how many people are holding out on buying the current version. They may also think they are leaving "money on the table" so to speak. They already kinda did that by offering the LRB before the standard. Can they do it again?

My hunch, Johnny, is that there are at least as many people holding for the SR than for the AWD... of course, relative margin per car is likely to be higher on the latter... Yet build complexity while proper first production ramp up is not yet where it should be also remains a consideration.

    So, time will tell... ;)

If some people currently waiting for the LRB lose out on the federal credit because they get jumped in line by dual motor, its gonna be a s***show

Don’t worry too much. You’re most likely looking at all deliveries thru end September to be eligible for the full tax credit now as the 200k threshold is most likely not gonna be hit be4 2Q...
Expect a sh**load of cars produced for YS deliveries from Apr to Sept... :)

Very intriguing pictures, including the side by side ones with the Beemer 3-Series...
Man, does it make the latter look dated... And also illustrates how relative large Model 3 is! Nice...!

Both very nice cars, but the Model 3 starts to make the 3 series look a bit like a dated Ford or Nissan

My buddies Dad bought a model s December 8th. He reserved a model 3 Feb 7th and got an invite to configure today. I get the loyalty thing, but thats a bit frustrating after waiting in line before the reveal of the car 2 YEARS ago.
