    [​IMG]Tesla reached a deal to acquire Michigan-based Riviera Tool earlier this year as part of its overall strategy to enhance manufacturing efficiency and boost production volume. Riviera Tool was a supplier of tools and dies used for stamping out parts for the Tesla assembly plant in Fremont, California.

    According to Grand Rapids news station wood TV, “The former Rivera Tool and Die, now Tesla Michigan, was already making integral manufacturing parts for us. It made sense for us to adopt a supplier, now as one of our own,” said Will Nicholas, a Tesla representative.
    Despite Tesla's presence within the home state of the Big Three - General Motors, Ford Motor Co. and Fiat Chrysler, the electric car maker continues to face strong opposition from lawmakers prohibiting Tesla to sell direct to consumers within the state.
    Reporters from the local news station had the opportunity to take a first look inside the new Tesla Michigan plant.
