Hello all, we already have a Golf GTE which my wife adores. I am buying a Model X 100D and I don’t want to juggle our existing PodPoint home charger between the 2 vehicles. So I will get a Tesla charger fitted in addition - but I have a couple of questions in case any of you wise folk can help:

    1. I presume the load balancing between the Tesla and PodPoint will not work? I.e. do you need two Tesla units for load balanced charging (wired in series) to work?

    2. Cd anyone give me real-world charging times for a Model X 100D on single phase UK Power through Tesla charger?

    Thanks very much!

I cannot speak for the UK, but here in the USA I added a 40 amp breaker into my panel and put a nema 14-50 outlet. This is just like the outlets we use for our Dryers (as in washer and dryer). my car charges overnight in about 3 hours. i have a s85d. since this comes directly from the panel, there is no load balance. the main panel is 175 amp breaker. i also start charging at 11pm for the night time rates.

might not answer your question, but hopefully others might view this as useful.
