EVTripping: Free trip planning and data logging for Tesla

Discussion in 'Tesla Apps' started by Teslaliving, Jul 30, 2016.

  1. Hi folks, i'd like to introduce you to a new site we've created to help with EV Road Trip Planning:

    https://evtripping.com

We've been working with Gene from Teslarati and a few others on the early features and ideas for the site and we're ready to slowly open it up to more users. We'd love to have some of you start using the site and provide any feedback if you have time.

Some of the features as a teaser:
    • Smart routing through chargers
    • User waypoints
    • Supercharger and CHAdeMO information/locations
    • Quickly find nearby chargers and details
    • Saved routes
    • Route details printing and export
    • Route metrics
    • Charge times
    • Saved routes between devices
    • Tesla browser and tablet friendly
    • Tesla log data collection and metrics (optional)
    Regards,
    Rob

  2. Figured I'd post an update on our progress so far. We've gotten some good attention and feedback and have added a bunch of features. Appreciate everyone's help.

  5. We've had a number of questions about what you can benefit from by connecting your Tesla, here's a quick list:
    • Daily log data collection
    • Daily log summary including average miles driven, estimated efficiency, etc.
    • Daily log charts and graphs
    • Version history over time (how long your car has been on each version of Tesla firmware, when you got it, etc.
    • Daily reminders to plug in your car (if not plugged in)
    • Reminders for tire rotations (at your preferred frequency)
    • Reminders for annual service (at your preferred frequency)

And here are some of our current metrics on the site:

  6. Just added raw state information to the site so you can see your full raw tesla information for your car at any time:

  7. EVTripping got bit by the blockage of Tesla APIs from AWS for the daily log monitoring we do. That problem is discussed here:
    https://forums.teslarati.com/threads/tesla-apis

Anyway, we've worked around it and EVTripping is logging daily mileage, providing tire rotation notices etc again now.

  8. Can you update your interface to the Tesla API to use an auth token?
