Definitely, China will be the next big EV frontier... Courtesy of Evannex:
Yes, the number of Tesla cars is increasing rapidly recently, and China ranked the second on the CO2 reduction table, but still way behind USA.
(Sorry about the Chinese, 3rd is Hongkong, 4th is Norway, 5th is Canada, 6th is Germany)

Chinese Electric Vehicle Subsidy Changes In 2018 — The Details
Thank you Moderator. Here are some more facts/speculations:
- There were about 200 Tesla cars(S and X) in our city (Dalian) last Sept, according to the home charger installer who claimed that all the chargers was done by him in the area.
- Now four months have passed, the number has increased to 300, and the new ones are mostly Model X.
- the sudden increase in the sale is largely due to A) Chinese people used to 'invest' towards the year end, and B) the waiting time of Model X (from order to delivery) has decreased rapidly from more than a year to two months or even one week (the last one is called On-the-way-cars)
- There are about 7 million people in Dalian (roughly 0.5% of the whole China), and the official statistics said there were 1.52 million vehicles by the end of 2016.
Important focus on China infrastructure growth!
China authorities resolutely ‘charging’ ahead...
Why China is crucial for T≡SLA... already $2B in sales last year...
